Study On China’s Comprehensive Energy Strategies Towards Environment-Friendly And Low Carbon Society

報告摘要：
In light of the overwhelming scientific consensus on the impacts of climate change and air pollution from burning fossil fuels, the urgency to meet these twin challenges has been recognized. In this study, we assess China’s energy demand, especially the peak coal demand, by a top-down approach, combined with a rough linkage to an integrated econometric model, which consists of a macroeconomic sub-model, an energy sub-model and an environment sub-model (3Es-Model). We then define low carbon society as one where carbon emissions can be reduced to acceptable levels, while a rational economic growth can be sustained; by doing so, we identify several comprehensive energy strategies towards environment-friendly and low carbon society in China, followed by a detail discussion on the expected peak coal demand in the near future.


作者簡介： 
李志東現任日本國立長岡技術科學大學教授，兼任中國國家發展與改革委員會能源研究所、日本能源經濟研究所 (IEEJ)客座研究員。
李教授1983年畢業于中國人民大學，1990年于日本京都大學取得經濟學博士學位，1990至1995年在日本能源經濟研究所任職，主要研究方向為國際能源與石油市場的計量經濟模型分析。已經出版大量學術論文與著作。
