【Abstract】The reasons for the underrepresentation of women in entrepreneurship are not well understood. More importantly, the question of how work-family policies shape women`s entrepreneurship remains unexplored. Child care accessibility enables mothers to balance income-generating activities and their family responsibilities. This paper examines the effect of access to affordable child care on women’s entrepreneurship. Using the first universal child care program in China, I find that an institution with a more accessible child care system significantly increases the number of female entrepreneurs without influencing the number of male entrepreneurs. This finding indicates that family-friendly policies may close the gender gap in entrepreneurial activity. Policies that seek to stimulate female entrepreneurship should be coordinated with work-family programs.     主講人簡介：王晴博士現(xiàn)任北京大學(xué)匯豐商學(xué)院助理教授。她畢業(yè)于伊利諾伊大學(xué)獲經(jīng)濟學(xué)博士學(xué)位，之前在中國人民大學(xué)獲得經(jīng)濟學(xué)學(xué)士和碩士學(xué)位。王晴博士的研究方向是勞動與人口經(jīng)濟學(xué)、發(fā)展經(jīng)濟學(xué)、公共政策和創(chuàng)業(yè)創(chuàng)新。她當(dāng)前的研究關(guān)注移民的福利影響，女性的創(chuàng)業(yè)活動，創(chuàng)業(yè)創(chuàng)新的政策效果。王晴博士的部分論文發(fā)表于Journal of Comparative Economics，Review of Development Economics， International Migration Review等期刊。
    勞動經(jīng)濟學(xué)研討會關(guān)注勞動經(jīng)濟學(xué)熱點問題和前沿文獻。勞動經(jīng)濟學(xué)研討會的學(xué)術(shù)活動有兩種形式：前沿文獻選讀和同行學(xué)術(shù)交流。前沿文獻選讀由勞動經(jīng)濟學(xué)教師團隊選擇本領(lǐng)域頂尖雜志的前沿文獻，采用學(xué)生宣講、老師點評的方式加強人才培養(yǎng)、促進本領(lǐng)域內(nèi)師生的廣泛交流。同行學(xué)術(shù)交流將邀請相關(guān)領(lǐng)域知名學(xué)者或頂尖高校畢業(yè)的博士就已形成的高水平工作論文進行深入討論。兩類活動將視需要而定頻次。如有意作為點評老師或宣講學(xué)生參加前沿文獻選讀活動，可以聯(lián)系經(jīng)濟學(xué)院宋揚老師（ys337@ruc.edu.cn）。
