【主題】： Discrimination and Integration of Rural Migrants into Urban China?
【摘要】：Using data from a 2011 national household survey, this paper examines urban residents` discrimination against rural-to-urban migrants in China. I differentiate between institutional and interpersonal discrimination and study the impact of these two types of discrimination on the integration of rural migrants into cities. The results indicate that institutional discrimination has a greater impeding effect on integration, and the effect takes the form of heightened rural migrants` self-perception as a foreigner, lower perceived social standing and reduced networking. In response to the discrimination, rural migrants, however, do not report stronger negative impressions of urban residents or greater unwillingness to interact with them.?

【演講人簡介】謝鎮(zhèn)榮,中央財(cái)經(jīng)大學(xué)中國人力資本與勞動(dòng)經(jīng)濟(jì)研究中心助理教授，經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)博士。研究領(lǐng)域包括勞動(dòng)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、發(fā)展經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、環(huán)境經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)等。2002年畢業(yè)于香港大學(xué)統(tǒng)計(jì)學(xué)院，獲得學(xué)士學(xué)位，2004年獲得香港科技大學(xué)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)碩士學(xué)位，2013年1月獲得美國波士頓大學(xué)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)博士學(xué)位。在Center for Global Development Working Paper Series發(fā)表過英文學(xué)術(shù)論文。擔(dān)任China Economic Review英文期刊匿名審稿人。曾在Center for Global Development擔(dān)任訪問學(xué)者。
