演講人簡介

 Christine Wong is Professor of Chinese Public Finance, Fellow and Chair, Chinese Studies in the School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies, University of Oxford.
 Over the past fifteen years she has worked extensively in advisory capacities, for the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, as well as through consultancies for the OECD, UNDP, UNICEF, and DFID. Prior to coming to Oxford in 2007, Christine was the Henry M. Jackson Professor of International Studies at the University of Washington`s Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies (2000-2007). Christine has also held faculty positions in the economics departments at the University of California, Santa Cruz; University of California, Berkeley; and Mount Holyoke College. Christine`s research focuses primarily on China`s public finance and public sector reform.
 Her recent publications include Rebuilding Government for the 21st Century: Can China Incrementally Reform the Public Sector?, China Quarterly, No. 200, December 2009; Financing Rural Development for a Harmonious Society in China: Recent Reforms in Public Finance and Their Prospects (with Achim Fock), World Bank Policy Research Working Paper 4693, August 2008.
