　　9月16日中午，由經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)院能源經(jīng)濟(jì)系主辦的能源經(jīng)濟(jì)研討會(huì)（Energy Economics Seminar）第三十期會(huì)議在經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)院明德主樓729會(huì)議室舉行。來自華盛頓大學(xué)的Jeffrey C. Begun博士進(jìn)行了題為“In search of an environmental Kuznets curve in sulphur dioxide concentrations: a Bayesian model averaging approach”的學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告。

　　在報(bào)告中，Begun博士首先從環(huán)境質(zhì)量與經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展的關(guān)聯(lián)角度出發(fā)闡釋了與環(huán)境庫茲涅茲曲線相關(guān)理論的理論和爭(zhēng)議，并對(duì)研究數(shù)據(jù)基礎(chǔ)和模型不確定性進(jìn)行了探討，在此基礎(chǔ)上Begun博士提出使用BMA（Bayesian model averaging）方法來解決模型的不確定性問題，并使用該方法分析了針對(duì)二氧化硫的環(huán)境庫茲涅茲曲線的存在性和其關(guān)鍵因素。

　　本期研討會(huì)由經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)院魏楚副教授主持，經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)院鄭新業(yè)教授、虞義華副教授、魏楚副教授、宋楓副教授、楊繼東副教授，青年教師Peter Kelly博士、陳占明博士及多名師生參加了此次研討會(huì)，并針對(duì)報(bào)告內(nèi)容進(jìn)行了深入的交流。

　　能源經(jīng)濟(jì)研討會(huì)由中國(guó)人民大學(xué)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)院能源經(jīng)濟(jì)系定期推出，旨在為研究能源經(jīng)濟(jì)問題的學(xué)者提供一個(gè)交流的平臺(tái)，以促進(jìn)我國(guó)能源經(jīng)濟(jì)教學(xué)研究水平的提高。

　　主講人簡(jiǎn)介：Jeffrey C. Begun, Ph.D. is currently a full-time lecturer in University of Washington, Tacoma. His doctoral dissertation is titled A Bayesian Analysis of Model Uncertainty and Development. His research interests are focused on environmental economics, international Economics, economic growth and development. The paper he will discuss in the seminar has been published on Environment and Development Economics. The projects he is working on include “Different Growth for Different Folks? Reexamining East Asian Growth Determinants through Iterative Bayesian Model Averaging (IBMA)”, and “Initial Conditions and Heterogeneity in Cross-Country Growth: An Iterative Bayesian Model Averaging (IBMA) Analysis”. He serves as editorial board member for International Journal of Sustainable Economy, PPE Paper Prize committee chair and so on.
