Admission of new members is often interfered with internal politics. This paper develops an infinite-horizon dynamic model to study how internal politics affects an organization’s admission of new members. We find that: (1) The organization should require consensus in admitting new members: unanimity voting does a better job than majority voting in terms of long-term welfare. (2) Internal politics can be a useful incentive instrument in organizational design: organizations with a certain degree of incongruity perform better in the long run than either harmonious or very divided organizations.

  主講者簡(jiǎn)介:翁翕,現(xiàn)為北京大學(xué)光華管理學(xué)院應(yīng)用經(jīng)濟(jì)系副教授。他目前主要研究領(lǐng)域?yàn)椴┺恼摗?yīng)用微觀經(jīng)濟(jì)理論和產(chǎn)業(yè)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)。他本科、碩士均畢業(yè)于北京大學(xué),博士畢業(yè)于美國(guó)賓夕法尼亞大學(xué)。他的研究成果發(fā)表或即將發(fā)表于國(guó)外頂級(jí)學(xué)術(shù)期刊,如Management Science、Journal of Economic Theory和International Economic Review。他目前主持國(guó)家自然科學(xué)基金青年項(xiàng)目“地方官員更替、財(cái)政分權(quán)與區(qū)域經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展”。翁博士曾獲獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)有:2016中國(guó)信息經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)會(huì)烏家培獎(jiǎng),2015臺(tái)新金控最佳研究新人獎(jiǎng),2011 David Cass Memorial Prize in Economics, 2010 CES Gregory Chow Best Paper Awards。   中國(guó)人民大學(xué)經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)院 人大企業(yè)與組織研究中心 人大國(guó)發(fā)院新政治經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)研究中心 2016年12月17日
